Data Defense / How your data is protected
How Data Defense protects your district
Data Defense(TM) protects your district in layers, with each layer closing a gap attackers look for and all of them managed by one team. Here is how it works, in plain terms, from stopping a threat at the door to recovering fully if anything gets through.
Protection in layers, managed as one
No single tool stops every attack, so Data Defense combines several kinds of protection and runs them together. If one layer is bypassed, the next is there to catch the threat. You do not manage these layers yourself; we deploy, configure, and maintain them for you, and watch them around the clock.
Prevention: closing the entry points
Most attacks start in a predictable place: a phishing email, a stolen password, or an unsecured connection. Data Defense secures those entry points first. Email is filtered so threats do not reach staff inboxes. User identities are verified, so a stolen password alone will not open the door. Network and remote access are controlled, so only trusted devices and people get in.
Detection: watching every device
Prevention is not enough on its own, so every device is monitored continuously for signs of trouble. Our team, supported by automated monitoring, looks for the unusual behavior that signals an attack in progress, including newer threats that traditional tools miss. The aim is to catch an incident while it is small.
Response: containing a threat fast
When a threat is detected, the priority is to stop it from spreading. Data Defense works to isolate the affected area and remove the threat, so one compromised device does not become a district-wide event. Because someone is always watching, response begins when the problem appears rather than after the damage is done.
Recovery: getting back to teaching
If data is ever affected, recovery relies on backups that ransomware cannot reach. GoLive Back-Up keeps protected copies of your data, so you can restore what you need without paying a ransom and get instruction back on track. Recovery is part of the plan, not an afterthought.
